Just wanted to update and let you know that the RAM works a treat.
Ruby's box is now up to 512MB RAM, and I've been able to backup her
entire C: drive to an external hard drive by booting into a LiveCD and
then attaching the external drive.
Thanks, Blake!
I'm now having a different issue. She'd specifically asked to have all
her music retained. Problem is, much of it seems to be in wma format,
and at least on my own laptop (which as far as I know is tricked out
with all the w32codecs, etc.) I've not been able to play the music
successfully. I'm wondering if anyone knows much about the wma format
and what my options are at this stage?
I have a nasty feeling that I'd have to burn them all to CD from within
Windows and then re-rip them to be able to recover them. Not even sure
if you can burn wma's to CD from within Windows... Any expertise
appreciated.
Cheers, Tom
