This month's Speaker: Kyle Rankin, Mplayer
In this talk, Kyle Rankin will discuss the swiss-army knife of media
players, mplayer. Specifically Kyle will cover introductory mplayer
usage, how to get those proprietary formats working, and follow up
with some of his favorite mplayer options.
Kyle Rankin is a system administrator for Quinstreet, Inc., the
current president of the North Bay Linux Users Group, and the author
of several O'Reilly books: Knoppix Hacks, Knoppix Pocket Reference,
and Linux Multimedia Hacks, and co-author of Ubuntu Hacks. Kyle has
been using Linux in one form or another since early 1998. In his free
time he does pretty much the same thing he does at work--works with
Linux. He has spoken at PenLUG twice before (Dec 2004 and Jan 2006),
and is always a hit.
