(Other people on that list were commenting with somewhat disparaging
remarks pretty much like Adrien's, including the bit about relocation

Not that it matters....

For a PHP/MySQL job in Santa Cruz, $60K/year is not bad. SC is kind of
a blackhole when it comes to getting a decent wage for tech work
(unless you consult). I was playing that game for a long time and
ended up moving to San Francisco.
