different character:

sf-lug is a discussion group that meets twice a month on
Geary at 20th; email stream varies in quantity and focus,

balug has once-a-month meetings in chinatown; email
stream is very light.

cabal supports the conspire at linuxmafia.com mailing list,
email stream is moderate, fair amount of very good quality
hardware talk

penlug has once-a-month meetings that are often excellent;
it's email stream is very light.

lugod (davis) has meetings and get-togethers, i've not been;
the email stream is moderate often with good quality info on
various linux-related topics.

svlug has meetings, i've not been; their email stream is heavy
with very good quality info on a wide range of linux topics.
