[JOB] UNIX/Linux/Solaris Admin, San Francisco, CA | 3-mo Project
Location: San Francisco, CA
Duration: 3 months
Compensation: 50/hour
We are looking for a Unix Systems Admin who can patch servers. This
candidate must have experience with Redhat and Solaris. The assignment
will be 3 months, but can go longer depending on the right candidate.
There will also be various patch maintenance and daily basic UNIX
administration duties on multiple UNIX platforms. The ideal candidate
should be a quick learner, enthusiastic, have good communication skills
and a proven ability to provide world-class customer service and
technical support. The candidate must be capable of juggling multiple
technical problems and have excellent time management skills to resolve
issues in a timely manner, properly prioritize support issues and do
consistent follow-up with customers. The position requires FLEXIBLE
hours - telecommuting access provided for off-hours work.
Required Skill Set:
*Proven Systems Administration experience (including strong korn/bourne
shell scripting capability) on Solaris 8 and AIX 5.x
*Experience with NIS authentication on UNIX
*Experience with local and PAM authentication on two or more of the
following: Solaris, Linux, HP-UX and AIX
*Experience supporting OpenSSH
*UNIX patch maintenance experience
Skills that would be a Plus:
*Systems Administration experience on Red Hat/SuSE Linux, HPUX
*Experience with VAS (Vintela Authentication Service) a plus
*Experience with Remedy or equivalent change/problem management software
a plus
*Working knowledge of Kerberos or GSS-API
*Experience using PuTTY or equivalent SSH client software on Windows
*Experience with Microsoft Active Directory authentication mechanisms
and/or Windows Server O/S Admin/support a plus
