<div dir="auto">He had a detached retina and prednisone is a steroid which will cause some swelling. But not that much. However, being literally face down for the first 7 full days will cause facial swelling. I might be missing something, but wouldn't prednisone _reduce_ swelling?<br>
(I had a course of prednisone drops for that purpose some time around<br>
2013 following LASIK, as is routine.)<br>
