<div dir="ltr">Hi!<br><br>I last attended a Berkeley LUG meeting, but I'm in Contra Costa and I'd love to meet up with anyone out here. I haven't been able to do Friday evenings because we have a preschooler and, frankly, 7pm is like midnight for me now. I was also hesitant to spend a Friday night trying to park in Walnut Creek for something that wasn't a certainty. I tried to join the mailing list on the website, but it didn't seem to go through so I wound up here. I'd be happy to meet up with people in central CoCo (Martinez, Concord, PHill, WC) if anyone is up for it, although a weekend with an earlier time would be easier for me to coordinate. Not sure how (in)active DVLUG is.<br>
I haven't been to meeting on-site since before pandemic when<br>
my work was still located in Walnut Creek. I've changed<br>
employers (and employer location) since then, so these days<br>
Walnut Creek would be quite significantly out-of-the way for<br>
me (much more than a moderate occasional detour on the way home,<br>
that it once was).<br>

I think Ian Lynn and Grant Bowman were the last relatively active<br>
folks in DVLUG,<br>
there might be another one or two folks possibly, but as far as<br>
I am aware / recall, mostly those two.<br>

As, for list(s) for DVLUG, there's "of course" this one<br>
(longest continuously running), and, in theory, there may be<br>
one other - web site <a href="https://www.dvlug.org/" rel="noreferrer" target="_blank">https://www.dvlug.org/</a> does also refer to<br>
another list ... but to add to the confusion, there was never any official<br>
communication on this list about having shifted over to that (or any other)<br>
list, so ... this one continues to exist and function ... not sure how<br>
functional<br>
the other is (I occasionally also send to it, but don't know if it<br>
actually works or reaches<br>
anyone).<br>

Anyway, perhaps Ian (or Grant) or others might respond regarding DVLUG<br>
meetings - I don't recall, but I think at some point they also added virtual,<br>
e.g. switched to virtual during pandemic (perhaps, I forget)?, and then<br>
maybe/probably went hybrid after that? But I really don't recall in detail,<br>
I've been sort'a out-of-touch with DVLUG meetings for fair while now.<br>
Ah ... web site makes reference to IRC ... yeah, that sounds vaguely<br>
familiar now that I think of it.<br>

I know they also used to still have regular meetings, even without list and/or<br>
website activity ... so ... lack of web and list activity doesn't mean nothing's<br>
happening regarding meetings (e.g. in person).<br>

Anyway, I'd think there are probably at least some interested folk(s). I<br>
recall going to meetings there on occasion, and sometimes someone<br>
from pretty fair distance away would come - as it was the closest LUG<br>
meeting to them ... even if for them, "close" was, e.g. North of<br>
Contra Costa county.<br>
I think the closest LUG meetings North (or East) of San Francisco<br>
(SFLUG.org, BALUG.org),<br>
Berkeley (BerkeleyLUG.com), and Walnut Creek (DVLUG.org) are<br>
in Marin or Sonoma county (NBLUG), or Davis (LUGOD) meetings,<br>
I think there is(/was?) also SACLUG if I recall correctly? - in Sacramento,<br>
other than those, don't think there's anything further North in California,<br>
but I may not be up to current on that.<br>

And, last I was aware, Ian was (semi-?) active with DVLUG.org.<br>
And Grant had mostly gotten sidelined with other stuff keeping him quite<br>
busy, so hadn't been as active in DVLUG.org in a while (I don't know if<br>
that's changed).<br>

Oh, web site also has information on more recent (e.g. 2022) podcasts and<br>
such ... so some of that data, etc., may provide additional clues as to<br>
who's been active more (semi-)recently with DVLUG.org, etc.<br>
