Back when I was living in Minnesota there was this u-pick place
out by Savage, MN. We would go and pick strawberries to make in to
jam, a morning of picking and a day of canning would give us a
years supply of strawberry jam.. It' s actually really easy to
make jam. The materials are cheap and easy to find. Spend time in
any thrift shop and you can find as many canning jars as you want.
The lids, always use new ones, and screw bands can be found in any
hardware store. Any very large pot can be used, you can do without
the fancy rack. The two items that you should by is the jar
handling tool and the canning funnel.
