New York ( least based on what I see on TV) is based on "celibritary". Someone is "important" because they have been able to convince a following that they are important. Regis and Donald are two examples that come to mind.</span></div><div id="yui_3_16_0_1_1447521363074_5234"><br><span id="yui_3_16_0_1_1447521363074_4771"></span></div><div id="yui_3_16_0_1_1447521363074_5267" dir="ltr"><span id="yui_3_16_0_1_1447521363074_4771">In Silicon Valley a lot of folks go about their job of creating amazing new products. It isn't bragging if you can do it. They work hard and can afford Star Bucks. <br></span></div><div id="yui_3_16_0_1_1447521363074_5472" dir="ltr"><span id="yui_3_16_0_1_1447521363074_4771"><br></span></div><div id="yui_3_16_0_1_1447521363074_5473" dir="ltr"><span id="yui_3_16_0_1_1447521363074_4771">There are few Walmarts in the South Bay. IMHO land prices are a bigger factor than lack of shoppers in expanding the chain. The City of San Francisco has its unique traditions favoring smaller merchants but I think the reasons are not about being <span id="misspell-3" class=""><span id="yui_3_16_0_1_1447521363074_5870">pretentious</span></span>.<br></span></div><div id="yui_3_16_0_1_1447521363074_5488" dir="ltr"><span id="yui_3_16_0_1_1447521363074_4771"><br></span></div><div id="yui_3_16_0_1_1447521363074_5489" dir="ltr"><span id="yui_3_16_0_1_1447521363074_4771">I have grown <span id="misspell-4" class=""><span id="yui_3_16_0_1_1447521363074_5754">zucchini</span></span> and tomatoes in the front yard, not to show off, but because I like fresh vegetables and the front yard gets more sun.
