Ubuntu/Debian types will have w3m, which is basically the same thing, already installed. All you do is read the man page and write a simple command. Add the command to either an alias 'notrust' or as a terminal bound command on a keyboard shortcut, which will output the actual target link.<br>
<br>Option B is use google fu. If you feel behind the curve just sign up for the free "Power Searching with Google" class that is available now and will end with you receiving an actual certificate upon a passing grade. Pretty cool!<br>
<br>Option C within your graphical browser is to use an add-on called "Web of Trust" or WoT, which verifies the credibility of websites and links. No more having to simply trust others if that is not working for you.<br>
<br>Option D is to use the browser add-on iMacro, create an internet related security method you like, and record it as a macro.<br><br>Option E is to install the browser add-on NoScript and sync it across all your machines. This will block everything on the internet by default until you unblock it by hand. There is a lot to unblock, but it is a fantastic tool mentioned on this mailing list many times.<br>
<br><div class="gmail_quote">Option F is to learn about sandboxing, which isolates applications from the system at large. It is capable of doing far more. There are too many options to even casually mention them by name.<br>
<br>Option G, to take isolation even farther, is to setup a Chroot Jail, which will isolate an entire filesystem on your machine.<br><br>Option H is to learning about key signing using PGP and use it to authenticate everything you post online. Many people on the list can help you set this up.<br>

Lynx is kind of old and non-standard, but still a pretty good tool for<br>
this. For a while my .mailcap had elinks, then w3m. I've finally<br>
decided that I don't care about non-utf8 HTML mail and switched to<br>
pandoc:<br>

The backslashes for the raw BRs and quoted asterisk-emphasis are silly<br>
(real emphasis tags get turned to bare asterisks like you or I would<br>
use), but you have to admit that the link format is nice and terse (once<br>
you get your markdown instincts primed to remind you which side is<br>
which).<br>

People who send HTML-only mail with silly Windows-codepage nonsense are<br>
typically spammers and people I didn't want to read anyway. Preferring<br>
the text portion of multipart/alternative messages is the best policy.<br>
Shows you only the absurd chaff in spams, for a start!<br>
