The wonderful optical on my compaq c301nr has not worked since the last installfest at google, Iinitially I thought I just got some bad disks. Cleaning didn't work this time. Ross probably doesn't mind if I use whitey for a bit. So, if anyone has real skills at fixing or just diagnosing laptop optical drive problems - I need your help now.

My google home page problem went away with no correlation to my update to a newer and flakier firefox or trying swiftfox, also got me more crashes. Problem musta been at google.

> [ Hey , sounds like your running for office, so I assume we will get to vote
> on recalling the President in Dec. Kilgore ]

You know what they say about assumptions.

> > except one of the major rules have been compromised in that
> > documents and archives seems to be missing making it harder
> > tofind these "voting" policies and proceedures and length..............
> [ This seems enough reason to ditch current leadership to me. [...]]

Yeah, if it was _substantiated_ in any reasonable way that I'd done
_anything_ along these lines. Fortunately, it turns out the poster was,
as usual, totally misinformed. No web pages have been removed, with
_my_ permission anyway. The web team has done what they've
done to the website - shtml to php or whatever changes... you think
_I_ get to decide what and when?

Wake up! Smell the volunteer-made coffee!

Now, if I could only get those of you who've recently publicly maligned
me with unsubstantiated crap to publicly APOLOGIZE for being clods, that'd rock!

Wanna start with yourself?

-pbr, loving running installfests and helping the world via things
like the kernel
walkthrus just so people like you can take pot shots at me for fun.
