Thank you for the invites.  Alas, I already have some other activity on both days.
Pinnacles really is a neat place to visit. Half of a volcano that sits on the San Andreas Fault.  The other half is a long way to the south.
Regarding National Parks,  people 62 and older can get a life time pass and not have to pay the entry fee.

Rain, rain, lots of rain -- good for the water table.  National Weather
Service says it'll probably be clearing by Saturday afternoon, but we'll
probably be snug and warm inside.  Cooking will include stirfry, and
other items to be determined.

See you there.

By the way, on Monday, Jan. 20, 2025, the MLK Day Federal holiday,
I will be driving to Pinnacles National Park (east entrance) in the
morning for a hike in one of the most spectacular and celebrated
places, probably through the Bear Gulch talus cave and up to Bear Gulch
Reservoir, a moderate hike of about 2.5 miles -- and driving around the
east side of the park to see the sights.  Why that day?  Because it's
the next "free admission" day for national parks.

I would be glad to bring along up to three passengers.  Call me at
650-283-7902, if interested.  First come, first served.

Distance from West Menlo is 99 miles, about a 2-hour drive.  East
Pinnacles is about 30 miles SE of Hollister, on CA-25.  I'll leave
West Menlo at 8:30am, pick up passengers en-route, and return in the
afternoon.

Rain will _not_ cancel.  Umbrellas are a thing.
