As extra information, here's a _complete_ list of Credit Reporting
Agencies, incluging all the specialised ones. A very careful approach
would include freezing one's credit record everywhere possible.

I'm told that freezing one's credit doesn't absolutely prevent new
credit being issued in one's name, but nearly so.

Experian cautions that a credit freeze is not a magic talisman against
fraud:

Take note that a credit freeze doesn't prevent fraud from occurring
on your existing accounts. Fraudsters can still steal your physical
credit cards, skim account numbers and take over your online accounts.
