Reading that page suggests a _modest_ amount of information 
about how these things work:  You insert your SD or CF card into 
a slot on the peripheral and press a "copy that sucka" button on the
peripheral.  Firmware within the peripheral then directly bulk-copies
the card's contents into some holding directory in the peripheral's 
data store, without the contents passing through an attached computer or
an attached computer even being required.
