[conspire] VPN

 Rick,
No your question was not taken as snarky in the least.  Actually, I was trying to figure out if VPN was a solution to a problem I had not considered.
Some years ago, I needed to access my work computer network from home.  For security reasons, I had to use a VPN between my computer and the work computer network.  That seemed very reasonable at the time.
I suppose if I went around using whatever Wi-Fi happened to be available, a VPN might be helpful.  Only I don't do my banking at the local coffee shop.
Hadn't thought of spoofing my location so I could access certain websites that restrict their content to certain geography.

The relevant prefatory question (and I apologise if this sounds snarky)
is:  What problem are you trying to solve?
