[conspire] Anyone know a data scientist?

So basically "Data Scientist" means whatever a particular company defines it to mean for purposes of categorizing their various "software" people.
I was once at a company that had a mix of software engineers and "system analysts". Both types of people wrote software. The SA's didn't really do any special analysis, they just worked on a different aspect of the company's products.
If I was interested in such a position, which I am not, I would match key words from the job description to words I can use in my resume.

I do. I work for Sentient. We have three data scientist on our team. These folks are the ones that either work with the machine learning data (candidates) or the artificial intelligence piece for product algorithms.

A recent morning TV show quoted a GlassDoor posting on "Best Jobs" #1 was "Data Scientist", #2 was DevOps Engineer.
I can guess what DevOps might be, but I have not heard of Data Scientist before.
Here is the full posting: https://www.glassdoor.com/ List/Best-Jobs-in-America-LST_ KQ0,20.htm
It also took a couple of tries to find this page. The list of top paying jobs starts with physician, followed by patent attorney.
