The Google paper cited, among other examples, a 2016 ACM article showing
that wearing eyeglasses with 'adverarial patterns' would defeat
AI-driven facial recognition. The former paper distinguishes itself
from prior (referenced) studies including the eyeglasses one by
examining what can be done if one is willing to use human-perceptible
image changes.

The example multicolour (tie-dye) 'camouflaged' patch shown, that was
totally effective at confusing pattern-recognition, is a circle that
looks to be about 5-10 cm across. This research didn't aim to test what
patches would serve as an effective counterintelligence measure against
facial recognition, as that simply wasn't the work's focus.

If you want to figure out that latter bit, I fear you'll have to look
eldwhere. Personally, I found it intriguing mostly because it
illustrates that what is intuitively easy for human eyes and brains,
like ignoring a psychedelic circle next to an object that has nothing to
do with it, is still devlishly difficult for computer algorithms.
