I had read the question as relating to Windows on VirtualBox, not
VirtualBox on Windows…

KVM also supports passing USB devices to the guest, made easier by the
frontend GNOME Boxes, a promising but still very buggy alternative to
VirtualBox. (Boxes is buggy, not KVM.)
