C-R antispam bots' autoresponses to mailing list subscribers are widely
deemed serious misbehaviour.  I'll quote Don Marti's policy from
http://zgp.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/linux-elitists :

  Challenge-response:  This list has zero tolerance for broken
  challenge-response systems.  Subscribers responsible for 
  sending a challenge to the list, or to any list poster, 
  will be removed and banned from the list.
