Pamela Jones has not only been obviously looking for a chance to retire
the site, but even has 'shut down' Groklaw once already, in 2011

Her current rationale doesn't really make a bit of sense, but the main
thing is that PJ doesn't need a reason, ultimately.  It's her site, so
if she chooses to post no more stories and disable commenting, that's
her privilege.

I expect commentary eventually on Schneier's blog,
https://www.schneier.com/ .  I also expect that this shutdown, unlike
the 2011 one, is the real thing and that the real reason is that PJ is
just tired from all that hard work and not able or willing to hand it
off to someone else.
