1. Arch Linux is not furnished as a live CD.  However, yes, it's fairly
high performance -- and also modification-friendly and with good tools 
for creating packages locally.

2. antiX is high-performance after _installation_ using the optional HD
installer runnable from its live CD image.  Its absence of Desktop
Environment cruft makes it liveable on anything from PII / 64MB RAM to
current machines.
