Summary for those who may be interested:
Previous iPhones backed off on user-tracking / data-mining, but the new
(2012-09) iOS 6 introduces two new global identifiers for tracking users:
identifierForAdvertising (IFA), which is cross-app/publisher, and
identifierForVendor (IFV), which is publisher-specific -- which are
nowhere mentioned on the iOS 6 launch page, are enabled by default, and
are tricky and obscure to disable. Details of how are in the article.
(Ehud, there's no rule on this mailing list against sending bare links
or link + headline, but I'll make the same polite request/suggestion I
made to Adrien: It's even better if you post a couple of sentences
explaining _why_ the link is of interest.)
