Why don't you use an International keyboard layout? I use
International Dvorak with dead keys, so I can type " u and get ü, and
so forth. Also alt-s gives ß.

Warum gehst du nicht eine internationale Tastatur? Ich benutze
Internationalen Dvorak mit toten Tasten, so kann ich "u geben und
erhalten ü, und so weiter. Auch alt-s gibt ß.
