Me, I stay away from brand-new chipsets, because I dislike frustration
and avoidable time spent working around problems, and because 1-2 year
old machines tend to be extremely good deals.
Except when, say, Cadence Design Systems pays me to solve Linux problems
on cutting-edge hardware, which is cool when it's on someone else's
dime.
