[conspire] yet another non related question

I notice you seem to have just now dropped off of a mailing list thread
into private mail without explanation of why you wanted/needed a private
side-discussion.

Please, in general, respect people's desire to carry on public
discussions to benefit the public. If you suddenly wish to carry on a
private discussion, do your correspondent the favour of telling him/her
what you're doing and why. Few things are more annoying than suddenly
finding yourself composing another scrupulously prepared public post,
and then after the fact catching the fact that some other guy has taken
you offlist.

Quoting Ehud Kaldor (ehud.kaldor at gmail.com):

Huh? I have _no_ idea what that's all about.

Anyway, I'm just trying to give the best information I can -- for the
benefit of CABAL's mailing list membership, and for the benefit of the
larger Internet community searching for answers in our archives. I do
not 'think you should' follow my recommendations. Take them or leave
them, for heaven's sake; you don't owe me anything. I merely attempted
to answer the questions you asked, with the best answers I knew.

I'm not doing that as free-of-charge personal consulting to you. I
don't even _know_ you, let alone have a burning desire to benefit you
personally. To the contrary, I'm participating in the _online Linux
community_. I'm repaying the debt I owe from when people helped me in
public Internet community settings earlier. This isn't all about you,
even if it is happening in California. Get it?
