Subject: message from david's family.

this message sent from matthew fox, younger brother of david fox.

on october 18th 2009, dave was admitted to the hospital. he was slowly
recovering
over a period of time and showing signs of improvement.

even though he was well taken care of by the medical staff, he entered
into a coma
and has passed away. David will be cremated and his ashes to be scattered at sea
near montery bay


his facebook and gmail account is in the process of being shutdown

i would like to thank david's friends for being around when he needed them

i would like to thank the various friends that drove him around to various linux
install fests. im sure all of you in the linux community will miss dave.

i would like to thank david personally for getting me started with computers.
i got my start in the late 70s with either breaking or hogging his
TRS-80 Model I.


we are in the process of scheduling a celebration of davids life to be held
later. i will be sending out emails to david's friends with the details
when they are approved, after which the gmail account will be shutdown.

in leiu of flowers, i would suggest making donations to the following groups
   1) your local public television station.
   2) All things are possible (ATAP-ca.org) dave consideres ATAP-ca.org to
      be his friends, and was rather fond of them. atap-ca.org is a registered
      non profit orginazation.
       .

   ATAP's  mission is to provide after school assistance, character &
leadership building
   skills and resources that will enable families to meet basic daily
household needs and
   other resources that will lead families to self sufficiency.
   The services provided are targeted to families (adults, youth,
seniors) with an
   emphasis on single parents, who reside in locations identified with
high crime and
   poverty levels.  Services provided are on site at the housing
location's "community center".
