Those of us who write documentation cherish a naive hope that, at least
_some_ of the time, people will read it rather than ignore it.  We don't 
do it for the sheer joy of re-explaining it to people on mailing lists,
over and over.

(That having been said, back in 1999, everyone in CABAL was a bit
quietly miffed at Richard -- and, I should mention, at Deirdre -- for 
deciding to name their colo "LinuxCabal", because we correctly guessed
that there would be vast confusion.)
