You might actually read Miles Nordin's _reasons_ why Sun's JVM is a
poorly designed execution environment compared to others that had
been created before it -- not to mention notoriously incompatible with
_itself_ from one revision to the next, etc.  It's a good essay.

The notion of even a (hypothetical) virtual _VAX_ being a better idea,
ludicrous as that invention might be, was just too funny, and Nordin
makes an excellent case for that.
