Quoting Daniel Gimpelevich (daniel at gimpelevich.san-francisco.ca.us):

> So, you have 2.9 now? Are you sure you wouldn't rather have 3.9?

Er, sorry about that: KNOPPIX_V3.9-2005-05-27-EN.iso is indeed what I
have. Klaus's site says, by the way, that starting with 4.0, they'll
release the full Knoppix image only in DVD sizes, because it's simply
outgrown the CD format. But they intend to still maintain a CD-sized
less-than-everything image, too.

I've also fetched KANOTIX-2005-03.iso for i386 and am slowly grabbing
the x86_64 equivalent. After that, I'll grab Damn Small Linux 1.2.

All of those are just out.

It all did happen, earlier today: The announcement was delayed for a
few hours inadvertantly, because of a mailing list glitch:
http://www.infodrom.org/~joey/log/?200506062345

...and the symlinks on the package mirrors _did_ get updated, and they
_did_ start "etch" as the new testing branch:

This site is just another one in a worldwide array of Debian mirrors.
It is not the "primary Debian FTP site" -- it is merely an official
mirror that is in the United States of America.

If you are connecting from outside the USA, please consider using
another official Debian mirror, one that is closer to you. This will
likely help you by speeding up your downloads, and it will help us by
lessening the load on this machine.

Current list of Debian mirrors is at http://www.debian.org/mirror/list

  Login successful. Have fun.
  Sorry, I don't have help.

They also found a really rather trivial error in the default
sources.list line on the newly released Official Debian 3.1r0 CD images,
and so are going to issue 3.1r0a images, to replace them:
http://www.advogato.org/person/vorlon/diary.html?start=11 Basically,
they forgot to update and un-comment the security-archive line.

I have no plans to replace my 3.1r0 netinst image, even as small as it
is, because I always look over sources.list and adjust it, anyway.
