More about the Linux Picnic, which now has a specific date in August (a
Sunday, this time), and has already reserved a bit over half of the
usual park in Sunnyvale -- including the lush part that the picnic
previously hadn't been able to get!

If you haven't yet joined the LinuxPicnic mailing list to help out as a
volunteer, now's a good time.

Once the sponsors are all confirmed (hopefully soon!), I'd like to make
a mini-announcement to the orgs involved in organizing this year's event
(SVLUG, LUGOD, PenLUG, sbay.org, CABAL and BayLISA) to let their membership
know what the status is...

I'll probably also ping the other local LUGs that I had harassed a few weeks
ago when I was trying to get the ball rolling.

I hope that once people see "yes, the event is happening and is sponsored
up the wazoo", more people will crawl out of the woodwork and sign up to
volunteer. :^)


I can post directly to SVLUG, LUGOD, PenLUG, BALUG, SF-LUG, BAD, SacLUG,
RoseLUG, and NBLUG, so I'll do that.

Can others handle sbay.org, CABAL, BayLISA and [anything else?] for us?
Let me know!!!
