I don't know the why I fail with the CD burning GUIs(xcdroast included)
but I do... possibly the village idiot. As soon as I read it's
intuitive/powerful, it's not. I'm willing to give the commandline a try
but haven't looked into it yet, still wrestling with many things to
learn. An easy to follow tutorial/how to would be of help.

This is true(debian-unstable); a friend that has used both says, Ubuntu
is far away the better of the two.
