Q: How do I change back from Linux to Win95?
We have a P-100 w/256 kB cache, 16 MB RAM, 4 GB SCSI HDD, Intel BX chipset at motherboard w/one set of DIP switches. We reformatted the SCSI hard drive and loaded Windows 95, but can not get it to boot from that hard drive. It will boot only off a floppy with the Windows operating system. The Linux indicator still appears on monitor. How can we get Windows 95 to boot from hard drive?
A: I suspect lilo is still installed on the Master Boot Record. Try booting with a DOS floppy, and doing a "FDISK /MBR". Also, make sure via FDISK.EXE that the Windows boot partition is marked active/bootable.
